Survival of Fortune

Oscar did not know how he was going to survive this latest romantic dilemma he found himself in. He had been in enough…

Eliza

Polly….

Sally

Chloe…Chloe…

This thing with Chloe had not been something he had expected at all.

But Chloe had been full of surprises. He had not known about her at all from Sally, even though this was the second run of their relationship. When he did find out about her, he thought she was going to be a young girl—she was a young woman instead, and was working on his playing field.

He definitely had not expected that he would work on a project with her, and have so much in common with her. That she would be unlike any woman that he had met.

Sally had had to leave for work—her leaving him alone with Chloe had not helped. They were all animals after all… He had been seeing Eliza for another possible run of their relationship when he started with Sally again.

Relationships for him were constantly evolving, morphing into something else. It was like they were never ending, because he had had moments with Polly where they could have been a thing again but they had not let it be. He seemed to move in and out of relationships in an almost aquatic manner.

But at the end of all of this was Chloe. She was asleep on his chest, and her sweet scent combined with her soft skin against his was all he wanted to think about. She looked like a sliver of Sally on his chest, but she also looked like herself. He was so intrigued by how she got him, and even though she was younger it was not an issue. She looked at him like she adored him when they were first together, he could barely keep his hands or his thoughts off of her.

He felt like he needed a fortune teller to let him know what was going to happen, or what he should do. Chloe was all he wanted now, and he was going to let his heart dictate his thoughts and actions.

Chloe stirred slightly on his chest, and he was hard wanting to be inside her again. But she was not awake so he just breathed deeply.

On his phone, he had a text which he read with his one hand because he did not dare move Chloe. He dropped the phone with that same hand, its heavy thud woke Chloe up.

”What is the matter?” she asked, caressing his chest.
