It was hot, smoky and stormy–that is just describing the weather where I live! I love the adjectives that described my natural environment, if not experiencing them as I was writing nonstop. For three years, I have been writing for a Medium publication called Crush Hundo that provides a word a day to create a 100-word story. This month, Skylar Quinn was kind enough to let me choose the words.
I had an idea in mind…
I am a pantser as a writer, I can have the smallest inkling of an idea in my head and the plot can changed based on the word for the day. I wanted to write about a vacation that was dynamic, at first I was thinking a summer fling but the first word sent me in a completely new direction. I have no idea how this story is going to end at this point!
Below are the stories I wrote this week on Medium and Substack, including my star story, Rampant, which is the image I used for this blog post. Also Skylar Quinn is writing like a beast, I profiled her here last year–she is such a good writer!!!
Medium
Odile has main character syndrome, I had an idea who she was, but she let me know she was someone else. This subtly spicy story was not what I was expecting to write last week, but it set the tone for the rest of the series. That is why I do not make outlines, my characters usually direct me! But they do not fight with me like Liz Edon’s thankfully!
Substack
The Hotwife Gets Her Moment In The Sun
The Hotwife Is A Sucker For Creamy Batter
If you want to beat me to the punch on my next Leonora’s Literary Links post–I love the alliteration–follow me on Medium and Substack!
