Wicked Wednesday #244 — Highlights

“So just give me the highlights, what you said Eliza…”

Eliza looked at Terrence, and felt her face flush. She had fought for him with Rafe–and won! But she did not want to tell Terrence that dynamic just yet.

“We talked, and Rafe realized that he could not make ultimatums…”

Eliza felt as if she were on fire. She was not sure how after Rafe and Oscar, that Terrence had been able to slip under her skin like he had.

But he had.

And the way that he looked at her made her feel like a fire she needed to put out. The color of his eyes was the most astounding thing she had ever seen in her entire life. it was a language that she understood in all of its variations.

the darkness that filled them now was desire.

“I want you…” he said, and pulled her close and looked into her eyes.

Just him looking at her was one of the most intimate things she had ever experienced with a man she was with. she closed her yes when he blinked, and pressed her face into his chest.

“There is really nothing to tell,” she said caressing his chest. I am here with you now and that is all that is important…” she whispered into his chest.

Terrence held her closer and his body made her feel what was important. Thier desire on display, their emotions chaotic but calm while they were together.

Eliza wanted it, but she was afraid of everything. Afraid of what she felt, and what he felt.

Afraid of love as always…

Wicked Wednesday #243 — XXII

It was almost twelve, Eliza walked into the unlit apartment. She was barefoot immediately, and the only bright thing was her engagement ring. Terrence’s scent stayed with her, from their sweet lovemaking.”So you slept with him,” Rafe did not wait for her answer, as he came out of the shadows.

Leaning against the wall, Eliza studied her husband-to-be.

“It does not matter,” she replied, shaking her head and trying to get past him.

But Rafe would not let her walk past.

“Is it over?”

Eliza pushed him, and walked past him.

“Did you call Margaux while you were waiting for me?” She questioned without turning her head.

“You knew about Margaux. You, your new man from me, that is why you have to give him up.”

“And Severine?”

“Eliza!”

“You know so perfectly everything. About me, what I should do. I did not and am not giving up anyone. You probably have another twelve lovers, and are trying to make me feel guilty! No…”

Rafe’s words sounded to her as if she was underwater. Above her and meaningless.

“What?” she sighed.

“You are not even listening.”

Eliza felt like an underwater thing like that line in “Liquid Diamonds” by Tori Amos.

She was, and she was using her siren song to subdue Rafe, and to keep Terrence properly seduced.

Wicked Wednesday #242 — Follow Your Heart

Eliza curled against Terrence, on his couch. She knew she was supposed to have called it off with him, but she could not help but follow her heart. Terrence held her close, and she felt like she was melting about him.

They were both silent because they knew how close they had come to this being over.

Them being over.

But Eliza was pretty sure that she had not had any intention of not ever being with him again, even when she told him that she was not going to be able to be with him again. That Terrencehad told her that she could not be with him again, and she followed through to tell Terrence this…but she knew…

But she wanted him, she wanted him when she walked through his door. She wanted him, when she lied and suggested that they would not be together again. Her body had melted even before Terrence touched her. And when they made love, it was the best love they had ever made.

“I am sorry…” she whispered.

Terrence cradled her breasts against his forearm, and kissed her neck.

“For what?”
Eliza closed her eyes, and pressed her body to his.

“For lying to you…I never meant a word of it. I wanted you when I got here.”

Terrence covered her in an instant, and Eliza was absolved of her sins. Her heart raced in her chest, and she followed it without abandon…

Wicked Wednesday #241 — Anticipation

Anticipation filled Eliza, as she pressed her body closer against Terrence’s. His fingers still dug into her flesh, but there was trepidation there as well. She could not say a thing because she knew that she had put it there—the fear—so she let herself be soft under his touch. That was her true penance, not what he had indicated before.

Terrence let his hands rest on her hips, and placed his lips on her neck. Eliza remained soft and pliant underneath him. The sweetness about what might happen between them was so saccharine, that it made her teeth hurt almost.

When he kissed her lips, it was the sweetest kiss she had ever had. It was almost the sweetest anything she had ever had because she had had a lot of kisses that had been amazing, but with Terrence there was a difference in expectation. Eliza did not anticipate anything with him, but what happened with them in the moment. In the moment like now, he kissed her and she felt the tip of her vulva dampen like a fiery volcano. When he kissed her she forgot where she was, and did not care where she was in fact.

Except with him.

Their bodies pressed together with such fierce desire that she was sure there was smoke if you looked close enough, between their pelvic bones rubbing like sticks for fire. She looked up at him, and he looked at her for the briefest moment before he kissed her almost unconscious along her neck. Eliza bit the tip of her tongue from the sweetness of his breath, and the sensation of his warm skin.

The anticipation so great, it burst within her. All she thought of right then was the moment, and Terrence.

Terrence like God.

Wicked Wednesday #240 — New Start

“It is a a new start for us, for Rafe and me…” Eliza said, looking at Terrence.Terrence frowned as he studied her, but he said nothing.

“I never told Rafe about you, but he figured out there was someone and told me it cannot go on. I broke up with him for not telling me about being with someone!”

“So you want to end this? You want to end me?” Terrence exclaimed.

Eliza was breathless all of a sudden. She did not want to end it, to end Terrence. But she felt she had to because she had not told Rafe about him first.

Because she had kept Terrence a secret, it was like he was her dirty little secret.

“You want to push me aside like a dirty little secret…”

“Stop reading my mind!” Eliza screamed, and started to shake. “Stop reading my mind!”

Terrence placed his hands on her shoulders to calm her. She did not feel calm, and was happy he was there to relax her. “In Paris, you sensed my inner turmoil, and you said all of the things that I needed to hear and that..

“That was why you made love with me? It was all my fault? I seduced you?”

Eliza tensed under his touch, and looked in his eyes.

“I wanted to be seduced.”

“And this, this between us has been nothing more than sex? Sex you want to sweep to the side, so that you can have your happy engagement back and a pure heart for your fiancé?”

“Terrence–”

His fingers dug into her shoulders, not with anger but desperation. They both knew there was nothing true about what he said. She put her hands over his.

“This is like your penance.”

“Terrence–”

He looked into her eyes, and she was immediately contrite for everything.

She did not want to lose him.

Wicked Wednesday #238 — Preparation

Preparation for her upcoming wedding made Eliza nervous. Sitting at the bar by herself was so dèjá vü, of when she was first there lamenting over her fate.

And she met Oscar.

This time she was meeting Oscar, because she wanted to meet him.

Oscar looked at her, as he slipped onto the stool beside her.

Josephine looked at them knowingly behind the bar, and Eliza avoided her eyes.

She was seeing Oscar because she needed to, but it was not like before. Nothing was going to happen between them, they were not in that place anymore.

“When you met me, what was I like? I mean about the wedding?” she asked him softly.

Oscar stared at her for while, before he asked,

“What do you mean?”
“Was I a mess? What did you see? How did I come off?”

“You looked like the weight of the world was on your shoulders,” he said, putting his hands on her shoulders. “You’re so tense.”

Eliza put her hands over his, and closed her eyes.

“I’m a mess Oscar, I needed you to see me to know if I looked the same way as I did when you met me. When you picked me up, and we became…”

He held her hands.

“You do not have to do anything you do not want to do Eliza,” he said, twisting her engagement ring.

“I want to get married,” she said quickly. “I always wanted to be married to Rafe, but it was the planning, the things I discovered about him that I did not know. But I love him.”

She shot a look at Oscar. Even though he was with Polly again, it was hard for her to say that to him. Or if it was not hard to say to him, she realized how heavy it was to say that after what they had been to each other and he did not even know about Terrence.

“Thank you for permission though, I love you for that. I love you for everything…” Eliza said.

She looked at him for a long time, their eye contact was bold and meaningful. With Oscar, she often did not need words. He was part of her preparation for everything, she thought as she looked away from him and twisted her engagement ring.

Wicked Wednesday #236 — Winter

Last winter, Terrence had such a different life. He was unemployed, and out of a “relationship.” Now he was newly promoted, and his “relationship” was something that he never expected he would be in.Eliza was someone he never expected he would be with, but he was. He knew that she was in an open relationship, and that she was engaged but being with her made him happier than anything. It was even more significant to him than having his job.

Lunch with her that day had not included any physical contact, but he had loved being close to her. Hearing about her day and looking in her eyes. She was a remarkable woman, and she made any season feel like summer.

He was so hot for her.

She had not told her fiancé yet about them, but he almost did not need that. Being with her, even clandestine was enough for now. Sometimes things were not the way you wanted them, or rather expected to them to be.

Eliza knocked on his closed door, and then walked right in. He smiled, but the look on her face made her wonder if he should smile…

Again, he had to ready for the unexpected…

Wicked Wednesday #235 — Victorian

Eliza clutched at the pearls about neck as she read the passage from her novel:
Her phone vibrated and she wondered if it was Smith, but then she vibrated herself when she thought it might be Gus. When she looked at her phone, she saw it was Gus.

“Hey,” she said softly, happy that he had won the who was calling her phone lottery.

“Hey, I need to see you. I know you were just here, but I really need to see you and I was hoping…”

“I just left the house, I wanted to be alone I told Smith that, but I want to be with you…” she said, walking faster than the speed of life and walking like traffic signs were not invented. Like cars would not or could not hit her. In Victorian times, she would have moved this way like horses could not rush her.

“I don’t want to make you.”

“I want you to make me.”

She pulled at her pearls, and thought how elegant she looked on her way to her assignation with Gus.

When she arrived at his door, he touched her pearls, and she thought of the pearl necklace he had left on her and could not help but fiddle with these less precious pearls about her neck.

She looked up at him, and all she wanted him to do was make her.

Even in fiction, she could not escape the conflicts that her real life presented. She put the vintage novel down, when she saw Terrence’s name on her office phone, and Rafe’s name on her personal phone.
She crossed her legs tightly, and thought how she would like either man to…

…make her.

Wicked Wednesday #234 — Promote

Eliza tapped her stylus on her tablet. She overlooked the notes that she was given to look over, before the meeting started.

Before Terrence walked in for his review.

Still lightly tapping the stylus, she knew that the meeting would not start until she gave the okay. With careful deliberation, she looked up, and her assistant walked over to the door and asked Terrence to come in.

As soon as he looked at her, Eliza imagined what it would be like if he spread her over the table in the conference room. She was in charge now, but if he spread her against that table, he would be in charge. But even though she was thinking that, her face remained plain as her assistant closed the door behind him and she placed her tablet on the table.

She let her colleagues begin the meeting, and she followed each point with her stylus on her tablet.

“Eliza has been working the closest with you, and she said she was especially impressed with your performance in Paris,” Loretta began, and looked at Eliza.

Eliza lifted her head from her tablet, smiled at Loretta and began speaking to Terrence.

“I was extremely impressed to see everything that you accomplished in Paris. It was everything that we hired you for, and let me know that you were a hard worker and a team player which now? I can say I was not sure about in New York. But the team tells me that since Paris it has been really great working with you and socializing with you at company functions.”

“Exactly! Terrence, we are excited to promote you to team leader. You will be working very closely with Eliza, and you will be more hands on with the team. Congratulations!”

Terrence smiled and looked between both women.

“Thank you both, I am really honored and happy to work closer with Eliza and the team.”

“Let’s have lunch, a celebratory lunch with the team.” Loretta said.

Eliza sat through lunch, and purposely let the team sit with Terrence as she talked mostly to her other colleagues. There was champagne, and she was a little tipsy. After lunch, she called Terrence into her office.

“Close the door behind you,” she commanded.

Terrence did as he was told.

Picking up her tablet and stylus again, she looked at Terrence.

“I wanted to show you my notes, to show you all the decision making I made so that you do not think that this promotion…”

Terrence stood close to her, and she could tell that he had something to prove as well.

In Paris, before we…”

Eliza looked at him, but he avoided her eyes.

“In Paris,” he continued. “You were a little tipsy and you told me that I had far exceeded your expectations. Don’t you remember, or I am flattered if everything that happened after made you forget…”

They looked at each other at the same time.

“I remember everything,” she said, and placed her hands on either side of her on her desk. “I just wanted you to know, I am happy we will be working closer together because I think you are really good at what you do.”

“I know,” he leaned in, and smiled at her. “Thank you.”

Eliza wanted him, but it was the middle of the day and her position was too high up for a bathroom tryst now. Terrence nodded at her, and the darkness in his eyes before he stepped back let her know they were both in need.

“Is that all for now?” he asked, with a raised eyebrow and thick voice.

“Yes,” she panted.

He nodded, and walked out. She watched his strong back stride out the door, and knew later she would tell him her mental notes that were not on her tablet…

Wicked Wednesday–List

“What is on your bucket list?”

Eliza gulped. She squeezed Rafe’s arm, and smiled at the random guest at her company’s cocktail party who had asked her. She had nothing but smiles, because everybody was somebody tonight and she was there to dazzle.

“Bucket list, fucket list,” Rafe whispered into her ear. “Really, is that the best conversation that someone can come up with?”

They laughed, and then they walked up to another guest.

Terrence.

Terrence walked up to her and Rafe, and he was not alone. Eliza smiled a tight smile, as she watched him walk over with another colleague. He told her he would be there with someone else and that it was casual, but it was startling to actually see him with her. Their company was big, so it was even more surprising to her that she did not know this woman.

“Ms. Morton, it is such a pleasure to meet you! I am Micha from the Paris office!”

Eliza smiled at the woman who stood beside Terrence and beamed at her. She now remembered having met the woman in Paris while she was there with Terrence.

“Micha, of course, a pleasure to see you again and in the States!”

“I was pleased that Terrence invited me! And it is nice to be here for a pleasurable event, and not just straight meetings!”

“Of course,” Eliza smiled, and turned to Rafe “This is my fiancé Rafe.”

“A pleasure to meet you Micha, and Terrence is it?” Rafe said.

Terrence nodded, and extended his hand to Rafe. The cocktail banter continued a bit more, until Terrence gave Eliza a return tight smile.

“He wants to fuck you.” Rafe said so plainly, Eliza almost choked on her scotch.

“Sorry?”

“I mean, I am not surprised—a lot of your male colleagues clearly want to—but he was with this Micha and he could not stop staring at you. I am sure if you check his pants, he is getting probably hard as fuck.”

“Rafe!”
She was not sure how to act, as she looked at Terrence out of the corner of her eye.

“Liza, you are not with me because I do not tell you the straight deal.”

He gulped his scotch like water, and her insides quivered from the truth and hidden passion.
