It had been a hell of a night out, Eliza thought as she pressed her head to Oscar’s shoulder. He had walked her to the door of her apartment building, and pulled her close. He pressed a kiss to her temple, and they looked at each other for a very long time before he walked back to the metered car that Sally sat in waiting for him.
Eliza smiled at the doorman, and closed her eyes as she stepped into the elevator that he had held for her. She got off on her floor, and walked into their apartment and was pretty sure that Rafe would be asleep…or not..
She took off her dress—which was redolent of alcohol because Sally had spilled her drink on her. Sally had had a lot to drink, and she had been a little out of control…Her soft apology included her kissing Eliza’s knees, after she dabbed at her damp waist.
But Oscar knew what to do with Sally to soothe her, knew how to be with her that calmed her down and made her almost docile beside him. She a good little girl beside him, and he was not condescending about it. He just knew what to do that made her soften.
Much like Rafe knew how to calm Eliza without a word when she tumbled into bed, in her semi alcohol-soaked underwear, and he embraced her. Eliza closed her eyes, and accepted his kisses to her temples and cheeks as she had just done for Oscar an moment before.
Eliza had not participated in a threesome, it was not something that she was going to do just because the opportunity was there. She wanted a different type of experience from that—from what could have happened while she was out tonight.
Like her evening ending with the man that she was going to marry. Because everything ended up being about him…
“Did you have a good night out?” he questioned, nipping at the tip of her ear.
“Mmmhmm,” she hummed, and the trill of her response made her lips vibrate. Or had her lips vibrated from all of the kissing? Before she decided that she had not wanted the threesome, she had made out with Oscar and Sally. Sally’s whose drank too much lips were sweet like every cocktail she had sipped.
“It was the beat night…” she sighed.
