Retro: Happy Anniversary

Wicked Wednesday has changed my life in such an amazing way. I am thankful for Marie being a great host and friend and thankful for the journey over a large part of that ten years.

Here is a retro anniversary post to celebrate:

The cursive blob on the piece of paper she was holding said, Eliza Hughes. Holding Bibiin her arms, her daughter fast asleep and Eliza was exhausted herself because they were finally back from Paris.

She had not intended to stay so long, but she had had a good time. But she had to be back in New York before Halloween. The irony of Cinderella turning into a pumpkin and the pumpkin that was ubiquitous during Halloween, were parallel to her anniversary. Halloween made her think of the biggest day of her life, and she squeezed her sleeping girl who was so fast asleep her eyes did not even flutter.

Rafe came downstairs to get their luggage, and took Bibi out of her arms before he kissed her, squeezed her and her ass. Eliza’s face flooded with warmth, that simple gesture that let her know that he missed her generally and sexually and she had missed him the same way.

The doorman smiled at them as they walked into the apartment building. The look on his face was that he was happy to see them together.

Reunited.

Upstairs, after Bibi fell asleep, Rafe wrapped his arms about her from behind.

“So France?”

“France was good, but I needed to be in New York with you. It was like another world almost, but I was parallel to our world the entire time.”

“Bibi looked happy at the party.”

“She was.”

“The picture with Oscar…”

“I know…”

She turned around, and they were closer than close. She could be away from him, and she could be with other people but she still wanted to be with him when she was with him. Knew why she had chosen him to spend the rest of her life with.

“Happy anniversary,” she whispered.

“It is not our anniversary yet!” he whispered loudly.

“Every day is an anniversary.”

She kissed him, and her kisses were a litany of promises. They were pressed so close together they felt like skin.

One body.
