Twisted!!!

It was so twisted!!! Chloe was a speed texter, but she could not even begin to type fast enough to get all of the words on the screen to her best friend!

She had been interning in the same city as her mother for months, and barely even saw her. Her father had miraculously come back into her life, and was spoiling her rotten with her own apartment–and paying for all of her expenses. No complaints from her or her mother! Her mom had had her very young, and had worked very hard to get her own success which meant she was not around a lot. Her mother’s sister had taken care of her, and her mom when she was around. Chloe was not mad, she got her ambition from her mom and she was proud of that.

As was her mom.

But when she went to dinner with her mom to meet her new boyfriend, her mouth dropped. She knew him, he was her office crush. The first time she saw him, she was smitten. He was older than her, but it did not matter–Chloe was starstruck. She never had any interaction with him, and there he was sitting next to her age-appropriate mother. All Chloe wanted to do was crumple up onto the floor, but she had to walk forward and shake his hand.

She had no idea what they talked about after that. Chloe immediately excused herself to the bathroom where she was at a loss for words to type. Before they thought she was sick or something, she had to go back to the table.

“Isn’t it ironic that you work for the same company as me, and I never noticed you when you look exactly like your mother? I guess all of the interns look the same to me,” Oscar frowned, as he realized how that must have come off to her.

Chloe smiled to reassure him, but she was hurt. The internship had just become her real job, and now she had to deal with a crush she could not have anymore. A crush who did not even know she was alive until now.

Dinner remained a din of words she could not remember even though she smiled and answered where she was supposed to–that was all she could do. Her mother hugged her after dinner, and Oscar hugged her to be less formal before she got into her Uber.

Chloe went to her apartment, and lie face down on her bed. She was too upset to cry.

Oscar’s scent lingered with her, as well as the feeling of his hard chest when he held her close to him. She closed her eyes and instead of tears, there were curtain call fantasies about Oscar that she had to have now–but never again.
