Wicked Wednesday #195 — Shuffle

It was like shuffling a song moving from Rafe, to Oscar. But Oscar was always Eliza’s weakness, from the beginning. But when she was with him, the world faded away. Everything in her world, everything in his world…
Everything was gone except for them.
He pulled her to him with primal familiarity when she walked into the hotel bar. Josephine looked at them with a smile because they were there so often. When Oscar was not there for their assignation, Josephine would let her know, place a napkin in front of her and serve her.She would do the same thing if it was Rafe who was not there yet.
Josephine was the closest person in the world to her, because she knew all of her sides and all of her loves, even though they barely spoke. Eliza was always with a lover at the bar, and so did not have time to speak to the lovely bartender.
Josephine did not look away as Oscar pulled Eliza close to him and kissed her, his mouth making her drunk with the taste of Vouvray.
Being with Oscar was indeed like shuffling music on a music player. On the same album. It was not exactly the same, but the emotions she felt for Rafe and Oscar were so strong. At this point, she and Rafe were settled, as much as they were ever going to be. Looking at Oscar, lying beside her now was another experience. They never had the chance to be settled. First she was cheating on Rafe with him, then he had a girlfriend.
Polly.
They did not talk about Polly, that was not something for her to talk about with him. She was not going to be the pot that called the kettle black with him. But Polly was still part of the equation.
Oscar looked at her, and Eliza looked at him with one eye. Her other eye covered with her arm. He kissed her underarm, and buried his nose there. Eliza giggled as his breath tickled her, and she rolled onto her back. Looking up at him, Oscar covered her, and she really felt like she was the only girl in the world…
They left together, and again, like a music player…she prepared to shuffle back to Rafe…

I did not really do a lot of music shuffling this week. I am a little obsessive as far as music is concerned…so this is what I have been listening to on repeat play. I was thinking about the first part of the video, as I was writing this post…
