“That was a lovely party,” Cleo said.
Eliza had invited Cleo to her apartment. She liked working from home because it gave her time to be with Bibi, who she was holding up in her arms and she could invite colleagues if she liked.
“Thank you,” she said kissing her daughter’s forehead as she did, and Cleo looked at the baby like she was enchanted somehow.
“Bibi is such a lucky little girl, she has you and Rafe as parents and Oscar is a devoted godfather,” Cleo’s smile lingered and Eliza’s eyes widened, she certainly had not meant to flaunt her relationship or Bibi’s relationship with Oscar.
Thinking about Oscar, she felt a hot flash between her legs. She thought of him making love with her before they lit Bibi’s cake, and how insane it had been because they had not thought about being caught. She thought how she had had to have him right then. She remembered him between her legs, and she felt the heat in her cheeks as she answered,
“Yes, Bibi is a very lucky little girl.”
“Clint and I have been trying to have a baby, but we have not had success yet,” Cleo’s eyes darkened, and Eliza protectively held her daughter. Suddenly, she wondered if Cleo was resentful of her. She had thought she was a friend, but now she was not so sure.
They continued to work after she put Bubi down, and it was like nothing had happened. But she wondered if the other woman thought she was flaunting her life? She certainly had not meant to do that.
If Bibi was lucky, so was she. Rafe was also a doting father as well as husband, and she loved him so much. Could not imagine life without him. But she also could not imagine life without Oscar, and she did not feel sorry about that at all.
She loved them both so much…
More Wicked Wednesday here:
