Wicked Wednesday #198 — Zombie

Eliza was a little tipsy—she had had two Laphroaigs with her new friend, Josephine. It was really nice for her to sit with a girlfriend, and talk about Oscar and Rafe.
Rafe.
At the hotel bar, they played a mix of songs that included The Doors, fronted by the object of Eliza’s zombie crush. Eliza loved classic rock, and The Doors were one of her favorite bands. In ways, Rafe reminded her of Jim Morrison and she was like Pamela Courson. They were not dissimilar from the couple, aside from the drugs, booze and rock and roll. Their relationship had been beyond tumultuous.
But Eliza knew that she had a connection to Rafe that she could not ever ignore, and it was the same with him. Fiona had told her how he had fallen apart when she broke their engagement. Until he called her at the hotel, and she told him which room she was in…she had tried so hard to forget him. But the moment that he walked into her room, she remembered all too well. It was why this time she felt so much more adhesived to him.
She leaned against the door frame now, as she held her keys in her hand to avoid jingling them. Bouncing on her heels, she kicked off her shoes. Barefoot, she found Rafe coming out of the bathroom. She kissed him, wrapped her arms about his neck and put all her of weight on him.
“You’ve been drinking,” he smiled, wrapping his arms about her.
“I made a friend, I am not drunk…”
She kissed him again, she knew that she did not have to do much to encourage him. He pulled her close against him, and kissed her slow and soft.
Eliza kept hearing the lyrics from the The Doors song, “Easy Ride” in her head. There was a line in “Easy Ride,” about exploring the mess that you are. She was a mess, fresh off the street and her makeup smeared from kissing him. Her clownish face in the mirror confronted her, but her body moved in pre-orgasmic bliss to “Easy Ride” playing in her mind.
Rafe moved with her, even though he did not know what she was moving to. Eliza pressed herself to him, and swayed.
“And I know it’s going to be an easy ride…” she sang off-key.
And it was.

I know you want to hear “Easy Ride” now, right?
