The Prison of Angels by Janine Ashbless is out — aka more Egan!!!

You know when you have a crush on a character? First let me say that Janine Ashbless is a magician, this series is so compelling and more time for me to spend with my crush, Egan! Janine has been very kind to interview him for me and yeah, I am swooning! Come spend some time with me, Janine and Egan–and of course get the book if you have not already!!!

Janine Ashbless: Today I’m here with Egan Kansky, one of the two main men in my new novel, The Prison of the Angels. Egan is a renegade priest-slash-trained-killer working for a secret agency within the Vatican, and his rival in love is a fallen angel; they’re both after my heroine Milja. Hello Egan – you’re looking good!

Egan: Sure, thanks. I think.

JA: I mean, at the end of the previous book, In Bonds of the Earth, you were literally dying.

Egan [coldly]: I got better.

JA: Roshana had beaten seven shades of hell out of you, hadn’t she? Smashed both your legs. Broke a bunch of ribs.

Egan: Nephilim are deadly dangerous. And they only get worse after you kill their bodies. That’s how you end up with demons.

JA: But Milja dealt with her. She told you how, I presume?

Egan: She did. She’s incredibly resourceful, is Milja. And brave. And loyal — in her own way… Sure, I’d have left the Big Guy to rot, in her position. But she went back for him, despite the odds.

JA: You make a good couple, you two. And you’ve let slip to her how you feel about her, at last. Yay! You’ve told her twice, in fact; you just don’t remember the first time.

Egan. Ah … that wasn’t smart of me. We both know that it can’t happen.

JA: Funny how it keeps happening, then. You just can’t stay away from her, can you? Can’t keep your hands off her, either. We know what happened in that lodge in Norway last night!

Egan [looks uncomfortable]: I never said I was a good man. Just the opposite, actually.

JA: Yeah… I remember last time we talked. But, for the record, I want to tell you I enjoyed writing your sex scenes even more than I did those for fallen angel Azazel. In this love triangle I’m sort of on your side, to my amazement.

Egan: What do you mean?

JA: I know Azazel’s technically better-looking, ‘cause he’s an angel, and he’s like this non-stop sex-machine, and he’s even sort of sweet in his murderous Baphomety way…

Egan: Is this your idea of a pep-talk?

JA: But you — Wow. You are so complicated! You are a mess of contradictions, and you’ve got these layers and layers of half-lies and denial and really serious kink and darkness under a shell of “nice”. I’ve just loved finding out about you! You’re like a puzzle that I’ve had to solve while writing the trilogy. And every time you get close to Milja it’s, like, more agony and anguish for you! It’s really hot, from my point of view.

Egan: You’re a bit of a sadist, aren’t you, Ashbless?

JA: And don’t you respond well to that! Come on, Egan — you love it when Milja pushes you to the edge. It drives you nuts when you’re constrained and out of control. I mean, if we look back to the first book, Cover Him with Darkness, that very first time you met Azazel…

Egan: Whoa. We are not going there!

JA: Oh, we’re going further than that, lovely boy. I’ve got a scene lined up for the three of you that’ll send you to the edge and beyond. It’s going to break you, Egan. Don’t panic; you’ll thank me for it afterward.

Egan [through gritted teeth]: Oh, I really doubt that.

JA: You will. Because I’ve got to break you to make you open up to Milja. To tell her the thing that you’ve been hiding from her all this time.

Egan: You mean … about the other archangel? Rome?

JA: No. I mean about you. I mean that. You’re going to give up your secrets, Egan. Even the worst one in your heart. Because you can’t really love her until you trust her.

Egan: Please, no…

JA: C’mon. You know how I love it when you beg. [laughs] Brace yourself Egan — it’s got to get worse before it gets better…

The Prison of the Angels, the final novel in the Book of the Watchers trilogy, and the story of a young woman who releases a fallen angel from centuries of imprisonment, is now available from Sinful Press.

Janine Ashbless is a writer of fantasy erotica and steamy romantic adventure – and that’s “fantasy” in the sense of swords ‘n’ sandals, contemporary paranormal, fairytale, and stories based on mythology and folklore. She likes to write about magic and mystery, dangerous power dynamics, borderline terror, and the not-quite-human.

Janine has been seeing her books in print ever since 2000, and her novels and single-author collections now run into double figures. She’s also had numerous short stories published by Black Lace, Nexus, Cleis Press, Ravenous Romance, Harlequin Spice, Storm Moon, Xcite, Mischief Books, and Ellora’s Cave, among others. She is co-editor of the nerd erotica anthology Geek Love.

Eyes Wide Open by Lucy Felthouse Release Day!!!

It was really lovely to listen to Lucy Felthouse read last Thursday at Between The Covers hosted by my publisher, Riverdale Avenue Books. It was just amazing to see her again in general, because the last time I saw her was across the pond at Eroticon! She is a powerhouse in the industry! Aside from writing steamy erotica, she owns Erotica for All which is a resource for writers and is an editor at Cliterati. She is also a member of the Brit Babes all of whom I love, and on whose blog I have been a guest. I am thrilled to help her celebrate the release of Eyes Wide Open!

Blurb:

A standalone novel from the Totally Five Star imprint.

An ordinary girl catapulted into an extraordinary world meets two even more extraordinary men—but what will she do when she discovers their  sexy secret?

Fiona Gillespie moved to London shortly after graduating to take advantage of the opportunities the capital could offer. However, months later, she’s still living in a horrid flat and working in a grimy East End pub. The problem is, she doesn’t really know what she wants to do, career-wise. So when she happens upon an advertisement for a job at a plush Mayfair hotel, she jumps at the chance. A great deal of determination and a spot of luck land Fiona her dream role.

But working at the Totally Five Star London is just the beginning. She adores the role and flourishes, impressing her bosses and making her increasingly determined to climb the career ladder.

While her career is flying, though, her love life is non-existent. She hasn’t even thought about men, never mind met or dated one for months, so when she bumps into two gorgeous businessmen in the hotel, she’s surprised to find her head has been well and truly turned. Even more surprisingly, they flirt with her—both of them! She’s drawn to James and Logan, despite feeling that they’re way out of her league.

When a misunderstanding leads Fiona to James and Logan’s sumptuous top-floor suite, she has no idea what she’s about to uncover. Scenes of people-trafficking, drug-pushing and wild sex parties all appear in her active imagination. Yet what she actually sees is something she’d never even considered before, something that piques her interest.

After discovering their sexy secret, what will she do with this new-found knowledge?

Excerpt:

Continuing to surreptitiously peer at the men over the rim of her glass, it hit her that this was the first time in months that she’d looked at a man with interest, much less two men—and at the same time! But, ready to snatch her gaze away if one of them happened to glance at her, she realized that it wasn’t surprising that the pair had attracted her attention.

The tailored business suits would draw the eye even on an ugly guy. But on these two, the fine clothing was practically an orgasm for the gaze. They sat opposite each other, and their angle to her meant that she had a view of both their profiles—lucky her.

The one to her right had very dark, almost black hair, with a bit of a curl to it, a long straight nose, a trimmed goatee and, if she wasn’t mistaken, deep blue eyes. It was hard to tell for sure from this distance and perspective.

The one on her left had lighter, shorter hair, stubble that by some magical feat still looked smart, and the most sinful lips she’d ever set eyes on. And speaking of eyes, she thought perhaps his were green. What she wouldn’t give to go and check both of them out close up, preferably naked.

Shocked at her own sudden lustful thoughts, she inhaled more than drank another sip of the juice. Unfortunately, it hit her throat all wrong and she almost slammed the glass down as she started to cough. She tried so hard to suppress the cough, eager not to draw attention to herself, that she made it worse. Snatching up the thick linen serviette from the table, she held it to her mouth as she spluttered in a most embarrassing manner, and tears began to roll down her cheeks. By now, she was sure that the whole damn restaurant was staring at her, and she wished the tablecloths reached the floor, like the ones in the restaurant upstairs, so she could hide under the table until she regained her composure.

Swallowing repeatedly to try to soothe her irritated throat, she gasped as a gentle hand laid on her shoulder, which set her off all over again.

“Oh God,” came a voice. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to make you jump. I just wanted to make sure you were all right. See if I could help.”

Unable to speak, Fiona waved a hand to try to signal that she’d be okay, but unless the guy was a mind reader, he’d have no luck figuring that out. Blinking through the tears that marred her vision, her urge to hide underneath the table grew stronger. Christ, it was only the hottie with the blue eyes. And, if she wasn’t mistaken, his sexy friend with the green eyes was also hovering close by, concern etched into his handsome features.

Managing to drag in a breath, she huffed out, “Thank you.”

Just then, Jeremy arrived with a carafe of water, complete with ice, and poured her a glassful. “Here you go, Fiona. Drink this. Are you all right? Anything else I can get you?”

And now for our scheduled program! From TIE ME UP:

I checked my face in the mirror every time I passed it, since it was opposite the door in the living room. My hair was still braided neatly, but my eyes looked darker than their usual gray-blue with the sparse eyeliner I applied. My lips were a healthy shade of pink, flushed from biting them because of my nerves.

A soft knock interrupted my pacing across the carpet, and I froze. It took a few seconds to mentally push myself to the door. I opened it, and peeked outside. He gave me a small smile and I pulled it open, the hinges squeaked for the effort.

He looked the same as ever: the same sandy blond hair and boyish grin. His blue eyes always seemed too big for his face, but made him look gentler, more open.

“Am I allowed to come in?” John asked.

“Of course,” I chuckled, shaking myself from staring at him too hard.

I moved out of the way, ushering him inside. My heart climbed up my throat, making speaking and breathing both things of the past.

His scent caught up to me after he moved past me, he smelled exactly as he had years before. Instantly, I was transported to a time when we flirted often and touched “accidentally” as much as possible. Why hadn’t I been brave enough to make a move then? It wouldn’t happen again, I resolved, as I closed the door softly and twisted the lock.

and from ON A RED HORSE:

“Why? Why after all this time do you still love me? After everything, your search, your sacrifices…how can you still love me? I don’t think I can forgive myself. How can you?”

Tyr spun her around so he could look into her eyes as he spoke. He needed to be absolutely clear and ensure she heard him as he spoke the words. “I love you. I have loved you since you first challenged me. You’re my wife and my life. There is not a single thing I would not do for you. Except leave. That is something I’ll never do.”

Scarlet held his gaze for a few nerve wracking heartbeats. “Please,” she whimpered before stretching so he could meet her lips with his own. He didn’t hesitate for a second but pulled her into his arms, completely enfolding her into his embrace.

She tasted like Asgard, like home, and when she parted her lips to allow him access, he felt the towers of the palace and the walls encircling his favorite garden. He didn’t need Asgard when he held her. She whimpered into his mouth, and he broke away, his breathing heavy, and attempted to regain his composure. “My love, did I hurt you?”

Scarlet looked down at the floor and shook her head. When she raised her eyes to meet his gaze again, a fine sheen of tears coated them. Not a single drop fell, but it was enough for him to know that he affected her as well.

“I love you, Scarlet. I will always love you.”

There was nothing else to say. She kissed him again, and he lost himself to those plush lips and her roaming hands.

Spy Games is Out!!!

I am soooooo happy to share with you the release of Spy Games, edited by Jilly Boyd for House of Erotica…especially since I am in it!

I never wrote espionage before…but something about the call appealed to me, and I did it. “Harper” came about using themes I like–it is set in Paris! And I fell in love with my characters…so I very happy I wrote it!

Wanna peek?

“Take off your clothes,” he grunted,

unbuttoning her blouse

“Leave on your suit,” she replied, her voice sounding just as huskily.

He smiled at her as he watched her finish unbuttoning her blouse, exposing her bare breasts right off the bat.

“So there’s a bit of kinkiness in you? A suit fetish, perhaps?”

Removing her skirt revealed that she hadn’t worn any underwear. She looked up at him.

“Talk? Or do?”

Russell pulled her to him while she was taking off her thigh high. She dug her nails into the other leg, tossing both ruined stockings carelessly onto the floor. She buried her face in his suit jacket, realizing he might have been right about her kinkiness. It was not something that she thought about before, but she guessed it was there right now.

The feeling of his suit against her bare skin while he was kissing her was one thing. Her bare ass against the chain that barred entry seemed ironic to her. There was no desire in her for others to enter, but she liked being watched, and that wasn’t something that she’d ever realized she liked until the past 24 hours. First in the bar, and now here with Russell.

Happy Chemical [se]Xy Day!

I have been published before, but there is no greater feeling. A creation of yours has been chosen for everyone to see, there is nothing more beautiful for an artist of any kind.
The beauty that came into my life, when beloved and treasured friend Oleander Plume asked me to be a part of her Chemical [se]X anthology. Invite only, the red rope raised–I was ushered into this amazing book! I saw the other writers who were writing for it as well, and my jaw dropped. Such gorgeous writers and me, wow! I went to Paris, hoping to find inspiration for the story, and the finished piece is one of my rare current projects that does not include Paris! But there is chocolate! The finished piece is the most accomplished and longest piece of fiction I have written, so personally a triumph.
But everything that has followed since…like I said most of these lovely authors alongside me are friends, or I have come to adore them as such. It has just been a beautiful process, with all of us just being supportive and equally excited by every phase of it.
And Oleander, my goodness. Oleander. I remember reading “Chemical [se]X” when she first posted it on her blog, and thinking this prolific woman comes up with the most amazing ideas! Aphrodisiacal chocolate?! When she expanded the idea to become an anthology…I mean what a beautiful mind!
Chemical [se]X really has been a labor of love–and chocolate! It is available for sale today, and I invite you to taste the attraction. All of the stories here are mouthwatering like your favorite bonbon. Why let me give you a sample!

This is from my Chocolate Covered story:

Rupert nodded, and she ordered the food online. When she finished, typing with a flourish, she noticed that he looked at her longer than he usually did.

“Yes, I am hungry…” he said, and put his hand on her shoulder, his hand lingering, his fingers that she had admired splayed a bit. “You look like a chocolate bonbon, like on the cover of the box…” He went to pick up the box, but then his hand dug more into her shoulder. “You feel like an Acme bonbon tastes, like chocolatey silk. Kind of like that other company says their chocolates taste, and they come close, but ours really feel like silk. You feel like that.”

Lotte tried to stand up again, but his hand did not move from her shoulder. It was not that he was trying to force her down, but more like he was not able to keep his hands off of her. She put her hand over his.

“Rupert,” she picked up the box of chocolates from the counter. “You ate chocolates from the new line… the new sexy line…”

He stared at her as if absorbing what she was saying, his hand digging deeper into her shoulder.

“You put them out on the counter? You wanted me to want to fuck you?”

Lotte felt a rush of heat. She wished she was that devious. Yes, she did want him to fuck her, she realized, but not like this.

Chemical [se]X is available today on Amazon in the US and the UK, so you do not have to wait a minute longer! Also you can visit our blog and Tumblr, and follow our Twitter.
