My Sexy Saturday — Some Sexy Action

I am sooooo thrilled to be in Jillian Boyd’s upcoming anthology, To Obey Her. It is our second book together with House of Erotica, the first one was Spy Games. Here is a peek of my story in the anthology, “With A Bow on Top.”

She took off her dress the way that Sabrina had asked her to. Sabrina smiled, and tipped her bowler hat at her, before she slowly undressed herself.

Annette felt more than naked after she took off her clothes. Standing in just her garter belt and stockings.

“No panties?” Sabrina asked, as she dragged her fingernail from Annette’s navel to the beginning of her slit.

Annette bit her lip, and shifted nervously. Her nipples were hard from the coolness of the room, and Sabrina being so close to her.

There is a ton more sexy action on the My Sexy Saturday blog. There will be a ton more about To Obey Her on my blog–stay tuned!

Guest Blogger Jillian Boyd is Out of This World!!!

I am honored to have Jillian Boyd as my guest today, she is an amazing editor and writer…simply out of this world!!! Without hesitation, here she is:

I adore sci-fi. Like, really blimmin’ adore it. It’s a genre with a seemingly endless scope, a genre that fits in with many of the other genres I’ve come to love as a reader. A space station romance? You got it. A terrifying, unknown creature from a distant planet, stalking unsuspecting victims? Shut up and take my money. Space westerns? Curse your sudden yet inevitable betrayal! Ahem.

But for me as a writer, sci-fi has always felt a bit like both a gift and a curse. You have the whole universe to play with. To shape and manifest your wildest dreams and most horrid nightmares in whatever pocket of time and space you want it to be set. It’s such an immense power… and I had somehow managed to convince myself that sci-fi was way, WAY beyond what I was capable of writing.

So when House of Erotica posted a call for submissions for a sci-fi erotica themed anthology, I spent a good while dismissing it. I could do erotica, of course – it’s all I’ve been blimmin’ doing for the past three years. But my strengths lie in contemporary erotica! I can’t do genre like that!

I repeated those two sentences in my head for about a month. And then I had a thought.

Earlier in the year, I went to see a movie called Ex Machina. It tells the story of a programmer who is invited by his employer to administer the Turing test to an android with artificial intelligence. The movie is, in essence, a three-hander between the programmer, the employer and the android, named Ava.

I was quite taken by the movie, and the basic idea of someone being asked to administer a Turing test (in the end, I was also inspired by the similar, but fictional Voigt-Kampff test from Blade Runner) to an AI android stuck in my head. Also, around that time, the British TV channel Channel 4 was in the early stages of promotion for a series called Humans – it’s not where I got the title of the story from, but the notion of a parallel present in which AI androids are mass-marketed as home help blended in with the Turing test idea.

Maybe… just maybe… I could actually write something that wasn’t in my safe contemporary erotica comfort zone?

The end result is a story called Human. It’s set in the very near future, just 20 years from now. No utopian society, no dystopian destruction. It’s London as we know it now, but the technology has advanced. London has always felt a bit lonely to me – I’ve lived here for three years now and I can testify to the fact that you can easily go an entire day without having a conversation with anyone. I tapped in to that feeling of loneliness for my main character, a robotics engineer named Kit Calhoun.

A kid of parents from my generation, she got into science and robotics due to her innate sense of curiosity. She wants to help technology evolve, but is frustrated that things are evolving so quickly without her having been a part of it. It’s a feeling that, even though this story is set in the near future, is occurring to plenty of 80s and 90s kids right now – the last generation before the internet became such an intrinsic part of our lives. Kit, like me, often finds solace in the things she remembers from growing up, like repeats of old TV shows she used to watch, and big bowls of cheesy pasta.

When she gets called to the offices of George Adaire, a brilliant young scientist who, a year before the story is set, was one of the people involved in a terrifying accident in the (at that point in time) disused Piccadilly Circus underground station, Kit is surprised to find out that George wants her help on a personal project he’s developing in secret…

Human Excerpt:

“February 18th, 2035. National Cyber Line London, basement vaults. My name is Kathleen Dale Calhoun, employee of In Media Res Technology London. This is session one of a proposed seven sessions with the fully humanoid android named ADI-208X, in which I will attempt to determine whether this prototype could, one day, be mass-produced as a viable sexual surrogate, either on its own, or via allowing its users to physically and mentally link up with the specimen and conduct full physical relationships with their partners using the specimen as a middle-man. Well, middle-bot, really.”

Kit flicked her hand and adjusted the hover cam, bringing George into view. He gave a small, silly wave, leaving her repressing the urge to giggle.

“I will be assisting Mr. George Adaire, as it is his creation, and hopefully we can make this project work as well as he has intended it to. All progress will be filmed by hover cams, with footage to be used as evidence, if need be. The first six sessions will focus on seeing whether ADI-208X can viably function on its own, with the focus shifting towards the neuro-link set up at the end of the proposed set.”

One finger-click later and the camera whirred as it shut down and descended onto the table. Kit grabbed the cam and followed George down the hallway. In the basement vaults, where George had his own experiment room, state-of-the-art LED Plus lights tinged the white walls a pleasant shade of soft blue. They hummed as they made their way to a door at the end of the corridor, marked with the word ADAIRE on a small gilt plaque.

One hand scan later, Kit stepped into the room and came face to face with what she’d only seen on blueprints so far. Instinctively, she grabbed on to the nearest stable object she could find for support… which, in situation, happened to be George’s shoulder.

“Kit Calhoun, meet ADI-208X. And maybe hold on to the table instead of my shoulder… you’re squeezing a bit tightly.”

“Oh,” she breathed, retracting her hand and unconsciously rubbing her fingers as she took in the sight in front of her. “Sorry.”

She turned to him just in time to see his own hand lingering on the shoulder she had touched, a breath hanging in the air. Then he continued.

“In the file you were given, you should be able to find most of the important technical information. Speech patterns, voice recognition, skin materials and so forth. You clearly know how to work a hover cam, so any information that somehow doesn’t make it on to your notes, you’ll be able to access via recording – these ones download directly onto any attached computer system, so you’ll be able to keep recording for… well, quite some time. I’ll be in the next room, observing on the monitors, and I also have the controls to the polygraph. If you need any assistance from me or sense that something’s going wrong – or even if you feel like you can’t go on with this – there’s a button under the table. Push it, and I’ll come.”

Kit nodded, trying to ignore the flutter in the pit of her belly, the little devil on her shoulder that chirped you don’t have a clue what you’re doing in her ear. Her palms felt sweaty and she almost, almost whimpered for George to please just stay in the room. Almost. Because deep down, she did know what she was doing. And she knew that she was about to do it damn well, too.

“Booting up specimen. He should be online in a few seconds.”

George’s voice crackled over the intercom. She could practically hear him grin in the other room. And he had every reason to. Because not two seconds later, ADI-208X hummed to life in front of her own eyes.

“Good morning. I am ADI-208X. What’s your name, miss?”

Kink of the Week — May 16-31: Suits

I remember being seventeen, on the train, and seeing men get on in suits. I loved it. Love seeing men in suits still. Some women like men in uniforms, but I like them in suits. I believe that putting on a suit transforms a man, and so does the way he wears it. I had a firm crush on a co-worker, who used to like to wear his tie flipped over his shoulder. The way a man wears a suit says a lot about his character. If it looks like the suit is wearing him, that is awful. If he wears it perfunctory with solid-colored ties and typical suit colors and prints, he is practical. If the suit seems tailored for him, or he wears it with atypical ties, suit patterns and colors it means he is not so rigid.

I wrote two pieces recently–my story in Spy Games, and this post–where I wrote about suits, or at least elements of suits. The difference in these pieces, was my mindset when writing both. The fetishized suit in Harper in Spy Games was a spontaneous scene, I did not plan it. When I wrote the blog post, I knew I was planning on including a suit fetish scene…the focus on cufflinks was incidental. What caused the difference? I had a conversation with a friend who has a particular fetish, and noticed a catch in my breath as I began talking about suits. I realized that we shared something, the same feeling but for different things. When I saw this prompt, I got very excited especially since I had just created a suit fetish Pinterest board!

I am not sure that I am a bonafide suit fetishist, but I know I get very excited if I see a man with (an element of, or a or full) suit I like. During this very cold past winter, I saw a very gorgeous man I know wearing a fedora. I complimented him, and felt flushed when I saw the fedora later hung up on a hook. Now I recognize that I watched Mad Men primarily for the fashion…and Jon Hamm…in a suit…with a fedora on…

Below is a sample from my short story Harper, in Spy Games:

“Take off your clothes,” he grunted, unbuttoning her blouse.

“Leave on your suit,” she replied, her voice sounding just as huskily.

He smiled at her as he watched her finish unbuttoning her blouse, exposing her bare breasts right off the bat.
“So there’s a bit of kinkiness in you? A suit fetish, perhaps?”
Removing her skirt revealed that she hadn’t worn any underwear. She looked up at him.
“Talk? Or do?”
Russell pulled her to him while she was taking off her thigh high. She dug her nails into the other leg, tossing both ruined stockings carelessly onto the floor. She buried her face in his suit jacket, realizing he might have been right about her kinkiness. It was not something that she thought about before, but she guessed it was there right now.
The feeling of his suit against her bare skin while he was kissing her was one thing. Her bare ass against the chain that barred entry seemed ironic to her. There was no desire in her for others to enter, but she liked being watched, and that wasn’t something that she’d ever realized she liked until the past 24 hours. First in the bar, and now here with Russell.

Meet Guest Blogger Anna Sky!

I am sooooooo happy to have the effortlessly sexy Anna Sky on my blog, and even more happy to be book buddies with her in the recently released, Spy Games. In addition to being terribly sexy, she is incredibly smart and savvy about the craft–read for yourself!

Thank you to the wonderful F. Leonora for inviting me on to her blog today. We’re book buddies in ‘Spy Games’ and I’m constantly bowled away by her infectious enthusiasm and eye for art, photography and writing. Sometimes it’s hard to tear myself away from her Twitter feed!

Talking of Twitter, I describe myself on my Twitter bio as “Corset lover. Tea drinker. Kinky Brit. Published Erotica Writer. Sex Positive Equalist” and I think it sums me up pretty well.

I started writing erotica about the same time as I started exploring my kink side and I see the two things as very closely linked. There is a difference between writing real-life erotica and fictional erotica and it’s taken me a little bit of time to tease out some of the details.

With fiction, I think there’s always an element of autobiography; sometimes it makes a fleeting appearance, other times it’s more obvious. It could be the way something made you feel, a snippet of conversation you overheard or simply using someone you know as inspiration for a character. However, unless someone knows you personally, it’s usually a hidden facet within your writing.

Writing about your sex-life however, there’s nowhere to hide. Every detail that you include is you, and it’s an incredibly vulnerable feeling. It’s also in a lot of ways more honest.

In erotica, you can go where you like, do what (or who!) you like and can exaggerate to the nth degree. As long as whatever you write about is authentic, then you have free rein. I don’t think there’s anything worse than reading a book about BDSM for example, and it’s obvious that no research has been done. As an author I don’t have to have experienced something personally to write about it, but I know that if I don’t have a clue, it’ll shine through in my work. That’s definitely something I want to avoid.

With non-fiction, it is what it is. And I do find that I’m a lot more practical in writing it. In my erotica there’s a lot more sounds and smells whereas in ‘Being Anna’, it was much more of an account of what we did or what we discussed. It’s definitely more about how I felt than lurid descriptions of spanking but I found it a lot harder to write in some ways. However, the experience of writing in a totally different style was a positive one. I’ve started making some notes to create a follow-up after feedback suggested that I had more to say!

That’s the writing side of me but I thought I’d best mention the corsets too. I’d always liked the look of them and my husband bought me my first. I think my hands were trembling with excitement when I pulled it out of the packaging. It’s the one that I’m wearing in my profile picture. Red, sparkly and laced up with ribbons. The amazing thing about corsets for me is how they make me feel. They redefine my shape – pulling and pinching and accentuating.

When we put one of my corsets on (it’s a two-person job), I normally stand in front of the mirror as it gets tightened to watch my shape change – it’s like a metamorphosis, and was the inspiration for my story ‘Butterfly’ published in ‘Naughty Shorts’.

I now own three. The red one that you’ve seen, a purple one with a luxuriant baroque-style swirl pattern and my favourite, a black leather one. This last one is a proper training corset and whilst I don’t wear it that way, it’s certainly a lot more secure than the others, which are more for fashion. Being laced into this one is a lot more physical, and I’d describe it as a form of bondage, both mental and physical. I absolutely love it!

Sexy, smart and savvy, right? Here is where you can stalk Anna, and find the links for all of her books!

Spy Games is Out!!!

I am soooooo happy to share with you the release of Spy Games, edited by Jilly Boyd for House of Erotica…especially since I am in it!

I never wrote espionage before…but something about the call appealed to me, and I did it. “Harper” came about using themes I like–it is set in Paris! And I fell in love with my characters…so I very happy I wrote it!

Wanna peek?
