Wicked Wednesday #231 — Anthem

Eliza heard the last part of the national anthem, when she walked toward Terrence’s office. He was listening to the ball game. She closed her eyes, overwhelmed by the desire that she felt from being in the office this late and being this close to him.

She walked past his door, and felt him behind her as she did.

“I need your help with a project Eliza, can you step in for a moment?”

His hand was on her hip, and she leaned against the wall outside of his door. He moved around in front of her, and looked in her eyes.

“I admire those of you that work well independently,” she said, folding her arms across her chest.

Terrence smiled at her softly.

“I can’t stop thinking about you…” he said, looking at her.

“Yeah…” she answered, looking at him and shifting. “Not here.”

He nodded.

“Do you want to get dinner and a nightcap?”

“I have to meet my fiancé…”
Terrence stared at her with wide eyes.

“Fiancé? I was wondering when you were going to tell me…”
“You knew?”

He laughed.

“Of course I knew, you were in the paper with him and everyone was talking about it a few days ago…”

“So you did not know before? In Paris?”
“No, I just wanted you. I still want you, and I don’t care if you are stepping out on your fiancé…”
Eliza laughed and stood up straight.

“My relationship is open with my fiancé…”
Terrence leaned into her.

“So you are open?”

Eliza pulled away from him.

“Not here, not here…”
He stood back and surveyed her.

“I can’t stop thinking about you…open…” he said, looking down and then back up at her with a potent mixture of uncertainty and vulnerability.

Turning on her heel, she walked to the bathroom. The unisex bathroom was wide and white with gleaming surfaces. When Terrence placed her on top of the sink, there was nothing more gleaming than their lust…
