Wicked Wednesday #237 — Pleasing

“I would never have had the type of relationship that I have with Rafe now, if I had not tried to be a people pleaser,” Eliza said, looking at Terrence and sipping her drink from the bar stool.

Terrence looked at her, as he sipped his own drink. When she came into his office, he was nervous that she was going to tell him something he did not want to hear about them. But she was having a rough day at work, and so he took her to a nearby cocktail bar to talk.

“You never have to apologize to me, I am always here for you,” he said, pushing hairs out of her face before she did.

“I just,” she started. “I ran to you because I needed to tell you, and because I knew you would make me feel better.”
“Eliza,” he started, and then stopped.

He was overcome with emotions, but did not want to tell her while she was dealing with so much. He did want to make her feel uncomfortable, or like he had an agenda.

His love did not have an agenda…
